I am starting from the words from Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola
“Arsene Wenger Can Pick Jack Wilshere Because He is Not Under Pressure To Win Titles At Arsenal”
Is it true??
Arsenal fans may not accept these words.
But this is the fact, and this we Arsenal fans are seeing in last couple of years.
If we look at the team deeply, those who knows and watch football can understand this, Arsenal is not trying to win anything.
I am proud fan of Arsenal. I love Arsenal style of football and I like Arsenal approach. But one fan of a profession football club like Arsenal always wants his club to win something. We arsenal fans love the club and the club is not giving anything to fans. Arsenal is not trying to give anything to their fans.
Please look at the team deeply in this season.
First take Arsenal defence line up,
Arsenal started this season with three new centre defenders (I take Djourou also as new defender for this season after long term injury). These all defenders were not yet proved as quality defenders. Wenger simply bought two defenders very less price. Djourou is always an injury prone player. Varmaleen was already out for long time before starting the season.
Which top level FC can start one season with this kind of defenders? This only proves Arsenal doesn't want to win; they just need only CL birth.
Coming to midfield.
Most of our players in midfield are injury prone players. One average person can understand, lot of Arsenal players can't play half of the season. Unfortunately those players are Arsenal's best players.
I also support our most talent line up in midfield. We can say Arsenal has most talented young line up in midfield.
But the question is, they are enough to win trophies? Are they able to change tempo of the game in one stage? OR are they matured enough to change their style if they needed.
The answer is big NO.
We everybody knows a slight change in midfield can deliver trophies easily. But why Wenger is not doing that? Why Wilshere is starting for all the game. Just one answer, Wenger doesn’t want to win anything.
In the striking options, I say we have only one mature and high quality striker in the team. But our best striker RVP can’t play half of the season. Why Arsenal is not buying a best striker in this stage also?
I don’t say, Wenger should break the bank and spend too much money for superstars. But spending a small amount of money in the market and get some good quality player will give series of trophy for Arsenal. But still Wenger doesn’t want to do this?
Conclusion is only one, Barcelona manager is absolutely correct. Wenger is not having any pressure to win trophies. Arsenal wants only CL birth to do their business. Wenger will give it for sure.
